Collagen Supplement

Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in connective tissue and contributes to the elasticity of cartilage, tendons, and ligaments. Having healthy levels of collagen contributes to flexible muscles and joints, strong teeth and bones, and healthy skin and fur.

There are actually 28 different types of collagen, but this product includes 4 types: Types I, III, V, and X. All of these types help support skin elasticity and healthy connective tissue, joints, and bones. Even better - these collagen types all come from natural sources, so no need to worry about synthetic or artificial ingredients!

Our Hip & Joint products contain active ingredients like Glucosamine, Chondroitin Sulfate, and MSM to support healthy joints, whereas these chews provide ingredients to supplement collagen production, which is naturally produced by the body to support these body systems. Both are great supplements to use for maintaining joint function; they just have different mechanisms of action.

These chews can be used alongside any of our supplement products, including our Hip & Joint supplements if you’re looking for optimal joint health benefits. However, we only recommend using one additional supplement with the Collagen chews to avoid any potential adverse reactions.

Collagen is found naturally in the skin to promote normal elasticity. In human products, collagen supplements help maintain skin elasticity for a younger look and feel. If you’re looking to help specific skin problems or irritation, these may help, but won’t be as effective as our Skin & Coat products or our Aller-Immune chews, which target skin health and immune responses to allergens more directly.

Every dog is different - for some dogs, you’ll notice a difference in a few days, while other dogs may take a few weeks to see changes in their mobility. If you’re worried about trying out a new supplement, start them off slow with a half dose and let it build up slowly in their system.

We recommend storing in a cool, dry place; these chews are best used within 90 days of opening.
