Flint River Ranch fits the plan for me and my dogs. I don't have to worry about nutrition, fats or content, Jim Flint and his crew takes care of that for me, and they are very good at it. They use a special chicken meal, no by products, that is cooked, the water removed and then ground so that it mixes better with the grains and vitamins and minerals in the recipe.

The food is oven baked and broken into irregular kibble for better digestibility, and the larger pieces help keep the teeth clean and the jaws exercised. Oven baked foods also require 1/3 less food to feed in comparison to steam, fat coated extruded foods.

• A young German Shepherd had been to the vet on numerous occasions for bad coat and intestinal problems. He had been treated with drugs, steroids and antihistamines.
